    Here,here! - [debate & us]

Not intending to put on any words at first, I came here as a regular check to see whether there is any update here, but suprisingly found some comments from Mr. Green. It's his sweet & touching words that moves me(almost burst into tears actually) and calls my memory of the past two years. So I decide to say something.

The gratitude towards Mr. Green will never be too much, although everytime when we expressed it in public he appeared a little bit annoyed, saying "Enough! Say something about debate". Thank you for your patience and devotion to train we debaters year after year. Thank you for your kindly treat and nice music. As for me, every dinner in his appartment is sort of family reunion, and is also a peiord of time to feel how wonderful life is and truely enjoy it. I guess all girls may have the same feeling, that we couldn't ask for more from such a wonderful teacher but work harder and harder.

When it comes to debate, I still remember the first time I went to Debate Society when I was a freshman with shyness and lack of confidence. That night the most impressing word in my mind was LOGIC, which I could not get to it at all. It was so frustrated to admit that years of schooling even didn't enable me to think in a logic way. In particular, I found myself speechless when facing the classic "5W&1H". Being over-discouraged, I didn't go to Debate Society any more that semester. However, perhaps due to the desire to overcome the frustration and learn to be LOCIC, I joined in weekly meetings of DS in the following semester, becoming increasingly interested in it. Although it was not easy in the very beginning--I would be affected for a whole night by a bad mood if I failed to present a comparatively satisfactory case in a practice, I didn't step backwards anymore but continously listen, read, and think. I could not tell how happy I was when it seemed not that hard for me to deliver a 7-min speech.

Debate Society takes up the majority of my extra curricular time, and is proved the most rewarding experience in college life; not only the improvement in English and logical thinking but also the people who share with me the joy and loss, as well as the passion for debate, are the most unforgettable and valuable part along with Debate Society. Those small pieces of notepads with scrawl and many pictures of us stored in my laptop witness our  growth. Though not in debate training any more, currently I'm thinking of doing something to record our path and send it to each of you before I graduate. (haven't gotten an innovative idea yet. your advice is warmly welcome!)

I'm proud of being one of Gary's Girls!

Last but not least, wish you girls a success in the final exams!

    best & take care,

    Hi! Dears...

It took me a long time to figure out how to publish new articles on this blog.Fortunately, I got Cher's help in time.

Now I begin recalling my memory, and find that the experience in BFSU was full of excitement, enjoyment, suprise and nervousness. Dears, here is a list of the most memorable things in BJ. If you like it after reading, show me your smiling faces.

1.I will never forget the fear of losing Mr. Green at the subway station, and the happiness of seeing his lovely face again in the crowd.

2.I will never forget the great encourgement you(Francine & Cher) gave me when seeing you smiling at me at the back of the room.

3.I will never forget the strength and warm when Vera hugged me after we won a debate.

4.I will never forget Cher's happy face when we got the chance of having lunch with Alex.(haha~~~~~~~)

5.I wii never forget the cute name: Cokkie Girls!!( Francine especially.....)

6.I will never forget the Turkey Cafe, Honey Cake, Chicken Sandwich and the charming waitress.

7.I will never forget the great satsfaction of tasting the cheese cake and sandwich  Mr. Green made for us .

Now, Dears, you may find our memorable moments are mostly related with food ...

the result of the tournament is not that important, what count are the  gratitude, encourgement and happiness which will warm our hearts as long as we can remember.

    Dears,wish you all the best!

Hey, dear all, I have had this idea for quite a while and tonight to my excitement I finally put this into reality! I really hope you will be happy about it and find this a surprise to have a cyber-place of our own in which we can share ideas and communicate more freely.

My stomach is still full with today’s meat loaf, seafood chowder and pasta which were all fantastic. It was a real fun to spend all this time BONDING with you guys: eating, talking, laughing and watching movies. (No, no, no, what are you hitting me for? I know we actually did a bit of training!!)

I want to say that it means a lot for me to meet you guys in these years, and I owe Debate Society, Miss Li and Mr. Green a lot for teaching me so many things. I also really want to thank those who are not debating any more: Iris, Kiki, Rose, Richard and the other two guys I barely know. They are excellent debaters, fabulous friends and outstanding examples we want to learn from.

Anyway, I hope this would be real help for us and our BONDING. I will tell you the password soon so everybody will be able to get on and write or share things, pictures are also very welcomed. (Not the others dear, I am looking at you Iris.)

That song in today’s movie is still going over and over again in my mind: We are family.

Good night and love you all.

    -Cher

P.S. I also got us an e-mail address: ourdebate@hotmail.com (also, I will tell you the password soon)

P.S. p.s. The name “G's Army” was inspired by Harry Potter and their Dumbledore's Army :)
